Starting out on the I-95, you'll head north toward Richmond, Virginia, then take I-64 west through Kentucky. After passing through Louisville and making your way through Indiana, you'll take I-70 through Illinois and Missouri, entering South Dakota from the southeast.

If you prefer a cooler climate and some mountain scenery, the northern route might be your pick. Starting out on the I-26, you'll head north through Tennessee, then take the I-64 through Kentucky. After passing into Indiana, you'll take the I-74 through Illinois, which eventually connects with I-80 and takes you through Iowa before entering South Dakota.
