If you have some time to kill and you're willing to enjoy the scenery along the way, then taking NJ-72 W, I-295 N, and I-95 N would be your best bet. This route passes through some lovely towns and amazing landscapes, and really lets you soak in the natural beauty of New Jersey. It spans roughly 70 miles of road.

However, all of this extra detour means it will take you around two hours and 15 minutes, or more, to reach Lodi. If you want to take pictures on your way, be sure to account for that time as well.

Route Avoiding Tolls

Another option is to bypass all toll roads and take I-195 W, US-9 N, and NJ-17 N. It's a great way to save some cash, but may not be the best option if you're in a hurry, or you don't enjoy driving through towns that have stoplights. It's a 68-mile journey in total.

The estimated travel time for this drive is roughly two hours, but with traffic, it could take up to two and a half hours, or longer. So, if you're on a tight schedule, this drive may not be the most convenient for you.

The Slowest Route

If there's no real concern about time and you're looking for the most relaxed drive, then taking NJ-70 W would be an enjoyable option. While it meanders through some beautiful residential neighborhoods and parks, keep in mind that it is the longest route to Lodi, clocking in at roughly 75 miles.

The travel time for this journey is approximately two hours and 35 minutes, but it can take much longer, especially during rush hours or with construction going on in the area. Just make sure you hit the road early if you're considering this trip.
