Route 1: The Garden State Parkway

If you're looking for the fastest route, this is it. Simply hop on the Garden State Parkway northbound from Brick Township and take exit 145 for I-280 east. From there, it's a straight shot to East Orange. The total distance is about 36 miles, and the drive time is approximately 45 minutes without traffic.

Along the way, you'll pass through the charming town of Montclair, where you can stop for a stroll through the beautiful Anderson Park or grab a coffee at Bluestone Coffee Co.

Route 2: The Scenic Route

If you have a bit more time to spare and want to take in some beautiful scenery, consider taking Route 9 northbound from Brick Township all the way up to Route 21. From there, take Route 21 northbound until you reach East Orange.

This route is about 44 miles and takes about an hour and 15 minutes without traffic. The route takes you through picturesque towns like Freehold, Asbury Park, and South Orange. Along the way, make sure to stop at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets in Tinton Falls for some shopping, and then grab lunch at the adorable Boxwood Coffee Roasters in Westfield.

Route 3: The Local Experience

For a more local experience, take Route 70 eastbound from Brick Township until you reach Route 571. From there, take Route 571 eastbound until you reach Route 9 northbound. Take Route 9 north until you reach Route 22 eastbound. Follow Route 22 to the Garden State Parkway northbound, then take exit 145 for I-280 east.

This route is about 42 miles and takes about an hour without traffic. Along the way, make sure to stop at Red Bank Battlefield Park in National Park for a bit of history, and grab a bite to eat at the unique Burger 25 in Toms River.
