Road Trip from Boston to Stonington

Along Route 2, stop at the Gillette Castle State Park, an unusual castle built by actor William Gillette. The park offers scenic views of the Connecticut River. Then take Route 184, which passes through picturesque coastal towns on the way to Stonington.
The Coastal Route
If you want to take the scenic route and have more time to explore, consider taking Route 3, which covers approximately 110 miles and should take around 3 hours, depending on traffic. This coastal route takes you through beautiful towns like Plymouth and Newport, Rhode Island, where you can stop and check out the famous Newport mansions.
