Road Tripping: Boston to Macedon

The Routes
Route 1: The Quickest Route
If you’re in a hurry, follow this route that spans a distance of about 320 miles and takes around 5 1/2 hours. Drivers will take 1-90 West and continue driving until exit 44 (Rochester). From there, drive North on Route 332 for 8.2 miles before turning right onto Route 31. Continue driving East for 3 miles and you’ll reach Macedon.
Route 2: The Scenic Route
Want to stop and take in the sights during the journey? Choose this route, which will take around 6 1/2 hours to complete. Take I-90 West and exit at Exit 2 (Lee). From there, merge onto US-20 West and then turn right onto New York Route 22 North. After driving for around 30 miles, turn left to join Route 67 and follow this road for 23 miles. Continue on New York Route 4 North and turn West onto New York Route 149. After driving 15 miles, turn North and join New York Route 9N. Drive until you reach Lake Champlain and board the ferry across to NY Route 314. Follow the road to New York Route 3 following this up to 46 miles then turn right onto New York Route 3. Follow this until you reach Route 104, which will take you straight to Macedon.
Route 3: The Off-the-Beaten-Path Route
Feeling adventurous? Take this off-road path from Boston to Macedon and complete the journey in 7-8 hours. Take I-93 North and follow this to Governor Wentworth Highway. Turn right onto it and follow this until you come across Moose Mountain Road in Pittsfield. You will then come across New Hampshire Route 25 at the blinking traffic light. Turn right onto it and continue driving for 10 miles until you come across New Hampshire Route 118. Head North to East Thetford Road and turn left here. Follow this until you reach VT-113 West and turn right onto it. From there, turn left onto Church Street and continue driving. Once you reach the end of Church Street, turn left onto New Hampshire Route 25 A East and continue driving until you come across North Thetford Road. Turn left here to reach US Route 302 West and continue driving. After driving around 35 miles, turn left onto Route 302. Continue on this road to Route 10 towards Dartmouth College. Drive until you reach Interstate 91 North. Follow the signs for I-91 North until you reach Route 9 East. Drive until you reach I-89 North and continue on I-89 until Concord. From there, take Exit 2 to Route 13 North and follow the signs to Route 4 West. Take Route 4 West to Route 202. While following Route 202, you'll cross the state border into New York. After driving for 25 miles, turn right to join Route 64. Follow this until the end of the road and turn left to join Route 31 on it's final 2 mile stretch before reaching Macedon.
