The Scenic Route: Travel Time between Borough of Charnwood and Hinckley and Bosworth

If you're planning a trip from the Borough of Charnwood to Hinckley and Bosworth, you have a few different options when it comes to travel routes. Whether you're a local looking to take a day trip or a visitor exploring the area, there are plenty of scenic routes and fun pit stops to enjoy on the way.

The Northbound Route

Your first option is to head north from Charnwood on the A512 towards Shepshed, and from there, take the A42 and M42 towards Hinckley and Bosworth. This route is about 25 miles in total, and should take around 40 minutes to drive without traffic.

Along the way, you'll find plenty of charming villages and green fields to enjoy, as well as some notable attractions like the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and the Twycross Zoo.

The Eastbound Route

If you're looking for an even more scenic route, you might want to consider heading east out of Charnwood on the A6, which runs parallel to the River Soar. From there, you can connect to the A46 and then the A5 towards Hinckley and Bosworth. This route is a bit longer, at around 30 miles in total, and should take about 45 minutes to drive.

But the extra distance is worth it for the lovely countryside views along the way, especially when you reach the historic town of Market Bosworth with its array of pubs, coffee shops and classic antiques.

The Westbound Route

Alternatively, you can head west from Charnwood on the A50 towards Leicester, and from there, take the M69 towards Nuneaton, and then switch to the A5 towards Hinckley and Bosworth. This route is the longest of them all, at around 35 miles in total, but should still only take you about 50 minutes without traffic.

On this route, you'll have the chance to explore some of the more rural landscapes of the Midlands while passing through the quaint villages of Dadlington, Market Bosworth and many renowned National Trust properties such as Bosworth Hall and Sibson Grange.

Where to stop along the way?

No matter which route you take, you'll have plenty of options for fun stops along the way. Market Bosworth is a particularly picturesque town to explore, with its quaint shops, restaurants, and great pubs.

If you're a fan of historic sites, the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre is a great stop, as is Ashby Castle in nearby Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

Whatever your interests, the journey from Charnwood to Hinckley and Bosworth is a beautiful one, with plenty of opportunities to explore and enjoy some of the best countryside and history that the Midlands has to offer.
