For a more leisurely drive, take Route 66 Southeast through Missouri, through Tulsa and Oklahoma City, and then onto I-40 East. This route will take you through some stunning scenery, including the Ozark Mountains, and offers plenty of opportunities to stop and explore some of America's most charming small towns.
From Amarillo, switch back to I-40 East and head towards Little Rock, Memphis, and Atlanta, before eventually arriving in Orlando. This route is around 1,300 miles and will take approximately 22 hours of non-stop driving.
Route 3: The East Coast Drive
If you prefer to hug the coast, take I-70 East to Columbus, Ohio, then I-77 South to Charleston, West Virginia. From there, switch to I-26 South until you hit I-95 East. Follow I-95 all the way down through Savannah and Jacksonville, before arriving in Orlando.
This route is approximately 1,250 miles and will take around 20 hours of non-stop driving. You'll feel the sea breeze in your hair, and you can stop and check out some of the fantastic cities along the way, such as Charleston and Savannah.
