Road Trip from Blues Mills to Lynn: A Scenic Adventure!

Route 1: The Fastest Route
If you're short on time, you might choose to stick to the fastest route. This route is approximately 532 kilometers and should take roughly 6 hours and 30 minutes, depending on traffic and stops. Head south on NS-19 to the Trans-Canada Highway and follow signs for the Canso Causeway. Cross the causeway onto Cape Breton Island and head down Route 105. Keep following Route 105 through Baddeck, and shortly after the town of Whycocomagh, you will see signs for the Cobequid Pass Toll Highway. This highway is 45 kilometers long and takes you to the town of Amherst in Nova Scotia. Head south and take I-95 South from Haverhill, Massachusetts to Lynn.
Route 2: The Scenic Route
Why not see the sights and take the scenic route? Although it takes a bit longer, this route can offer breathtaking views and enjoyable detours. Take Route 19 south and follow it until you hit Route 4, which will lead you to Truro. Along the way, you can take a break and stretch your legs at Heather Beach Provincial Park, visit the small fishing town of Pictou, or take a guided tour of the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. Once in Truro, take Route 2 and then hop on Route 102 to Halifax. From there, head south on Route 103 across the South Shore of Nova Scotia to the ferry terminal at Yarmouth. The ferry will take you to Bar Harbor, Maine and from there, driving to Lynn, Massachusetts is only a three-hour drive.
Route 3: The Coastal Route
Love the ocean? This route is for you! From Blues Mills, take Route 19 south and follow the coastline. Make a stop at Cape Breton Highlands National Park for some of Canada's most beautiful scenery! Continue south and cross the Canso Causeway to reach the mainland. Head to Halifax and then head south on Route 103, which hugs the Atlantic coastline. Don't miss Peggy's Cove, a small fishing village with stunning scenery. From there, cross into Maine at the town of St. Stephen and take Route 1 down to Lynn.
