Road Trip: From the Beaches of Delaware to the Hometown of Aviation
Are you planning a road trip from Bethany Beach, Delaware to Piqua, Ohio but not sure which route to take? Don't worry, we've got you covered! There are several different routes you can take, each with its own unique scenery and attractions.
Route 1: I-70 West
If you're in a hurry, taking I-70 West is the quickest route. It's approximately 590 miles and takes about 9 hours and 30 minutes if you don't stop along the way. However, this route can get dull, as it mostly passes through major cities. We recommend making stops in either Pittsburgh or Columbus to break up the drive and explore these vibrant cities.
Route 2: I-76 West and I-70 West
This route is a bit longer, at approximately 630 miles, but offers more scenic views. Take I-76 West until you reach I-70 West, which will take you straight to Piqua. This route will take about 10 hours with no stops. But, we suggest making a pit stop at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which is a beautiful national park located along the route.
Route 3: US-301 North and I-70 West
This route offers a mix of small-towns, rolling hills, and stunning countryside views. Take US-301 North until you reach I-70 West, which will take you all the way to Piqua. This route is about 600 miles and takes around 11 hours. However, with stops at Chesapeake City and Frederick, this route can be more fun and interesting. Additionally, Frederick is full of history and charming streets lined with shops and restaurants.
Regardless of which route you take, we recommend making stops along the way to stretch your legs and discover new places. Plan ahead and find attractions or local restaurants to add some excitement to your trip. And don't forget to bring snacks and drinks for the ride! Good luck and enjoy the journey.
