Skipping The Plane Ride: The Drive from Bedford, Ohio to Parkland, Florida

Are you planning a road trip from Bedford, Ohio to Parkland, Florida? The good news is, you have two choices in routes to take, both with their own unique qualities and travel times. So fasten your seatbelt and let’s explore the options.

Route 1: Fastest Way

The first option is the fastest. From Bedford, Ohio, take Interstate 77 South to Interstate 95 South, then head west on SW 10th St, and proceed to Westview Dr in Parkland, Florida. This route covers approximately 1175 miles.

At top speeds and no traffic, the drive takes around 18 hours. However, try to avoid rush hour traffic and the drive can take considerably less time. If you hit traffic, for example, in a large city like Atlanta, your drive time can increase by several hours.

Peak Traffic Time:

18 hours 20 minutes

Low Traffic Time:

16 hours 30 minutes

Route 2: The Scenic Route

The second option is slower, but more scenic. From Bedford, Ohio, take Interstate 71 South to Interstate 75 South until Cincinnati, then take Interstate 64 East and pick up Interstate 75 South again. Then head east on I-16 and take exit 121 onto US-1 toward Baxley/Newington. From there, proceed onto FL-207 and exit onto I-95 South towards Miami. This route is approximately 1,356 miles.

While this route takes a bit longer due to its scenic qualities, it certainly makes up for its longer travel time in gorgeous views of the mountains, forests, and even beaches. But be aware that peak traffic hours can still extend your trip time by several hours on this route.

Peak Traffic Time:

24 hours 15 minutes

Low Traffic Time:

22 hours 30 minutes

So which route should you take? That depends on your priorities. If you are short on time and want to get to Parkland, Florida as quickly as possible, Route 1 might be the better choice for you. But, if you have more time available, and want to take in the sights along the way, Route 2 is certainly worth considering.

Either way, before you hit the road, make sure to pack wisely, bring enough snacks and drinks, check road closures and traffic patterns, and double-check your gas. Now, go plan your perfect road trip and bon voyage!
