Heading South on NJ-71

Head south on NJ-71 for a quick and easy drive that will take you directly to your destination. This is a popular route with locals and visitors alike, and it’s easy to see why. There are plenty of great places to stop along the way, including lovely small towns like Bradley Beach and Belmar. Take your time and explore, or just keep on driving until you reach your final destination.

Taking NJ-35

For a slightly longer drive with a little more scenery, take NJ-35 instead. This route will take you past the very aptly named Shark River, where you can stop and take a look at some local marine life. You won’t be able to stop and explore all of the charming beach towns along the way. But, if time is of the essence, this is the best choice.

There are plenty of great places to stop along the way on your road trip from Avon-by-the-Sea to Point Pleasant. In Avon, be sure to check out the historic Avon Pavilion, which has been a beloved local landmark since the 1920s. In Belmar, grab a bite to eat at the popular Bar Anticipation, or take a stroll down Main Street to check out the local shops. If you take the scenic route along Ocean Avenue, be sure to stop at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant for some classic boardwalk fun.
